One thing that always frustrated me with textbooks is when the authors use terms and force me to either remember something from 10 chapters earlier or find it myself. Michael J. Farabee seems to understand and has included hyperlinks throughout his free online biology book to a comprehensive glossary.
Farabee was associated with Maricopa Community Colleges, a consortium of 10 community colleges and two skill centers near Phoenix, Arizona. Farabee is now serving as a Residential Faculty Member at Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale, AZ. He has been a Visiting Assistant Curator for Palynology, an instructor at Wuyi University in the People’s Republic of China, and has dove the coral reefs in the Bahamas and Belize.
His online biology book includes many color graphs, illustrations and charts. Each chapter includes review questions (sorry, no answer key) and a series of links to other online resources for further study.
